True, I couldn't agree enough. 8 is already a graceful rating tbh it is based on constructive criticism. 9 would be way too much. I liked how they really put VFX on steroids when the MC appears in an epic battle. Some visuals were good. The fighting scenes could be a bit better I mean like, it's Nexus Studio... they did Darwin's Game good. They just need a bigger budget for it. The story telling is quite good but it can be better. For an OP anime this has quite a big potential. I am looking forward to season 2. Out of topic: Just imagine if they animated this series like the Fate series. I might give it a 9 - 10/10 XD

I highly doubt it, this anime has so much potential that having a better animation and visuals will increase its ratings. Fate Night also scored 7 - 8/10. I don't see how it is "unfair". This series does not need ufotable to animate it nor does it need the same quality visuals as fate. Nexus makes a great job animating, they just need a bigger budget for it. The upcoming season might be better due to its popularity.

Nope, I par it with the ratings, how much the people liked it. Based on story, animations, visuals, and more. It isn't really as good as Fate. It can never be good as fate but there's something about it that the viewer likes that makes it way go beyond the expected ratings. And it reaches the same ratings as Fate.

With the way things are now, if it had better visuals it might increase the ratings, but I doubt that it'll reach 9. Maybe 8 with higher decimals.

Honestly besides shadow himself(I absolutely dislike him) everything in the anime was great, great fights ,love the story between the shadow garden and cult of demons, I feel bad for 666 hopefully she learns one day about cid’s real face, and also that red hair princess really hates feeling helpless and being an spectator(kinda like her sister but to bigger degree), and finally I’m still debating if the king of Midgard is also with the cult or if he has bigger plans that require him being “patient” with the chaos, 8/10 hope there’s a season 2 not bc of shadow but for the rest of the cast lol

Yep, the Rating of 8.5-9 is usually crossed by already established successful project like Bleach TYBW arc. It's not easy to get 9+ rating in first season itself.Also the plot was amazing but I felt that the fanservice was not necessary at many places, and Iris worked so hard for people but kept losing and I think many viewers didn't like that.

fate series has good animation, but story and dialog are crap. This is overall way better then fate series.

This series is quite entertaining due to its chaotic and the down right weird ass quirks of the show. It's something new to experience especially for many others. But in terms of everything down to almost each detail. It can't really par with Fate UBZ. Even if the story of Fate UBZ may not be the best. I can say that Fate's story telling is better than this show. Don't get me wrong though, this show is good. You're just badly comparing the two.

I take back what I said tho regarding the story. I've read the manga and it's actually good. I even checked the ratings for both and pretty much. Eminence in Shadow got higher ratings for season 2 because of the hype. Comparing Eminence in Shadow and Fate tbh isn't possible. Eminence in Shadow is very on the comedic side while Fate has more of a serious plot to it. Comparing both is like comparing apples and oranges. I like both shows anyway.

Not much can be done about the story, it's from a LN and Manga so the anime may change somethings here and there, but it can't fix anything deeper itself.

It was a fun flick, but it has a major problem stemming from many modern anime: It "tells, and not shows". In other words, it completely leads the viewer by the leash for "the big reveals omg!". That style gets really old.
